22 namenhafte Designer entwarfen im Auftrag der österreichischen Firma Swarovski Elements, das kleine Schwarze neu. Zu den Designern zählen z.B. Alber Elbaz, Missoni, Valentino und Georgio Armani. Am 20.September werden die Einzelstücke dann beim Auktionshaus Phillips de Pury in New York versteigert. Der geschätzte Wert für ein kleines Schwarz von Valentino beträgt 10.000-12.000 US-Dollar. Der gesamte Erlös kommt der American Cancer Society und der Ligue nationale contre le cancer zu gute.

After three hours of hoping and wishing the winners were finally announced. Sometimes they had a little bit of technical problems showing the videos and slide shows but it was not such a big problem. It gives me a pleasure to see that Kira Stachowitsch won the Award for Best Fashion Journalist. The crazy eye patch for Lady Gaga designed by Andreas Eberharter was of course honored with the Award for Best Embellishment.
